ABOUT

My name is Luke Chambers and I am currently studying Bsc Digital Art and Technology at the University of Plymouth. I have recently completed my placement year for this course where I worked for Webeurope. My time there has taught me a great deal about the web industry and I have learnt many new skills, programming languages and practices. As I enter into my final year at university I hope to make good use of my new found skills.

INTERESTS

I have always been keen to have the latest technology, ranging from games consoles to mobile phones, and will remain a large interest of mine. I have recently become interested in hacking wii-motes and wish to explore more of their capabilities outside of their pre-determined use. I have also taken an interest in the Google maps API and I am keen to explore the capabilities of the technology. Following on from my placement experience I am also enthusiastic about new web technologies and how these can be integrated into everyday life.

Aside from this I am also a keen mountain biker and I'm part of the university club. I ride street, dirt jumps and downhill and I have recently started racing. I also enjoy my music, games and reading magazines.

SKILLS

I have built up many skills throughout my time at university and even more so whilst on placement:

  • I can create code (HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, JSP, Lingo, Java, Action script, Mysql)
  • I can use many programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Imageready, Flash, Director, Dreamweaver, Regex Buddy, 3dsmax, Fireworks)
  • I can multi-task, time keep, prioritize jobs and organise myself well.
